ᝰ THE STORY
A trip to Bandung, the capital of the western part of Java, would be incomplete without visiting its breathtaking tea plantations. More precisely located in the region of Pangalengan area, the journey takes about one hour from the West Java capital. This tea plantation area among the others in West Java is part of the largest in Indonesia (more than 85,000 hectares!) covering over 75% of Indonesia’s total tea plantations.
If such gardens hold the noble title to be some of the largest in the country, it is without saying their natural charm measures to their impressive grandeur. The expanse of tea trees that line up infinitely soothes the eyes of the beholder and turns the vista into a giant green tapestry arranged in textured layers.
With friendly weather and temperatures ranging from 15-25°C (59-77°F), the region is one of the coolest places in South Bandung and is, as of today, famous for camping and its stunning sunrises, making it the perfect weekend escape from the bustling capital.
I woke up at 3 a.m. and was on the field as early as 5 a.m. to capture the first light. The golden glare progressively filling the immensity of the panorama conveys to Epitome a rather unique atmospheric vibe between the awakening crimson colors of the sky and the still-sleeping green shades of the terraces while giving a nod to those surrealist landscape painters from the 20th Century.

This silver halide, true photographic printing material on a polyester base is produced to the highest gallery and competition standards. It is printed through a specialized process using laser exposure technology.
Your photograph is not printed like other papers with ink. It is instead exposed into the silver halide base with lasers and is then chemically processed.
The final result has to be seen to be believed as it leaves mica crystals on the paper that, when properly lit, produce a strikingly three-dimensional luxurious look and an appearance of being lit from behind.
